Cohesio Linerless

In addition to innovating the traditional label production process, ETI has been a leader in developing linerless production capabilities that can be implemented into the Cohesio platform. Prior to developing production-level linerless label capabilities, linerless labels were typically only found in hand-applied applications, and could only be rectangular in shape. However, ETI has developed in-line die cutting for linerless labels, opening up opportunities for varying shapes in linerless production. In the linerless printing process, the substrate is printed first. The printing can take place on both sides of the material if desired, and is then followed up by a silicone being applied on the top of the substrate, while adhesive is applied to the bottom. With the versatility that ETI’s equipment provides, a variety of linerless label applications and market segments have emerged. The benefits of the linerless technology are numerous: huge savings on liner, waste reduction, more labels per roll, reverse printing, environmentally friendly, etc…
