To ensure labels do not stick together, linerless labels are produced in a roll form with silicone release coating. Directly applied to the facestock, silicone allows the multi-layer construction to be rolled up without the adhesive sticking to the label below.

The silicone coating also eliminates the need for an additional layer during the lamination process, reducing the multiplicity of raw materials. Fewer raw materials make linerless labels an eco-friendly option, one that many companies are turning to in the face of current global concerns.
